In collaboration with Wolfram Gruss, imprfct space creates an immersive experience that invites visitors on an audiovisual journey.
Wolfram Gruss is a renowned music composer, producer, songwriter and sound designer who is characterized by his innovative approach to sound. He fuses different elements to create distinctive and impressive listening experiences. This fusion includes the combination of electronic styles with experimental sounds as well as expressive, dramatic changes through contrasting emotional passages.

Emotions, sound- & light
For the installation in the imprfct space, reference was made to Wolfram Gruss' enthusiasm for the reciprocal relationship between sound and image as well as emotionality. The aim was to translate a direct connection between these components into a holistic experience. In this context, the approach to bringing them together is based on the emotions of visitors to the imprfct space: These very emotions are recorded individually by installed cameras, assigned to the visitors and interpreted by AI tools. This results in emotion profiles that lead to real-time generated sound and light effects in the space, bringing it immersively to life.
Individual 3D effects
By spatially capturing the participants, the generated effects can be arranged 3-dimensionally in the room. On the lighting level, this is reflected in individual lighting effects, which are displayed with pixel-precise control using large Astera HydraPanels. At the audio level, audio tracks generated to match the emotional profiles are played via loudspeakers. The unit creates a unique audiovisual experience.
The installation opens up the possibility of either reflecting several emotions present in the room with sound and light and immersing oneself in them or allowing each visitor to experience and follow an individual emotional environment. It is also interesting to observe what happens when different emotional profiles meet and mix.
